Volunteer Impact Portal (VIP)

Anyone that isn't FCA staff that is involved with an FCA huddle, team, camp, etc. is required to complete the VIP process to ensure that anyone working with FCA is cleared to do so. It is an intricate process, but your FCA staff here in Paulding are here to help you through it. This guide (brought to you by Pennsylvania FCA) should lay out the process in a way that is helpful.

1. Create an account. Click here to get started.

"Login with FCA Account." Then on the next page, click the "Create an account" link under "Need an FCA Account?"

2. Use the Program Link provided by your FCA Staff contact to apply for a role.

*You might have to log back in when you click the link given to you*

You will either apply for:

  • General Volunteer role (for anyone that isn't on staff with FCA or the school), or
  • Huddle Leader - Adult (teacher sponsor and/or parent leader) or
  • Huddle Leader - Student

3. Fill out personal information.

**Volunteers 13-17 must also obtain parental consent**

  • Fill out the form with your personal details.
  • Be prepared to give 4 references (we recommend also contacting these references to prepare them for the incoming email)
  • For applicants over 18, Give permission for Asurint to preform a background check.

Agree to Athlete Safety Policy

7. FCA Third Party Background Clearance

After you complete steps 1-6 you will then receive an email from Asurint (this could take about a week to receive)

Once your FCA Representative approves your application, you will be sent an email from the Asurint, company that is contracted to provide background checks. Click on the link and fill out the simple form. This is a time sensitive email.

8. Meanwhile.... Complete Your Required Training.

While you are waiting for your background link to arrive, continue with your required training.

Your account dashboard will show a list of the training courses you are required to complete. The number of required training programs is dependent on the role you are applying for:

  • Huddle Leader - Adult (E3 Training & Child Abuse Prevention)
  • General Volunteer (Child Abuse Prevention)
  • If you still aren't sure what your required trainings are, reach out to acathey@fca.org.

After completing each training program, return to your dashboard for instructions on the next required course.

  • Please note that Child Abuse Prevention Training is mandatory for all applicants. This training is part of FCA’s national application process. Because state requirements for mandated reporters (such as teachers and coaches) vary, FCA has implemented a standardized training program for all volunteers. While we recognize that mandated reporters are already required by state law to complete abuse prevention training, FCA requires every volunteer (regardless of state) to complete the FCA Abuse Prevention Program as part of the application process. Please be sure to click on the button at the end of the video to confirm that you have completed the video. This is a commonly missed step.

Frequently return to the dashboard for your next steps.

9. Finalize

  • Confirm that you have completed all the required tasks on your dashboard
  • Notify your FCA Representative that you have completed the VIP Journey

THANK YOU!

We appreciate you taking the time to finish the VIP process so we can ensure that all our students and athletes are taken care of. We look forward to serving with you!
